TVLS Seeks New Board Member to Fill Vacated Seat

The Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools Board of Education seeks applicants to fill the unexpired term of board member Mrs. Kathryn Johnson, which will become vacant on January 14, 2025.

The TVLSD Board of Education would like to thank Mrs. Johnson for her dedicated years of service to our district and community. Mrs. Johnson has been an outstanding advocate for all students. She has chosen to step away from her position to spend more time with her family.

The Board will begin interviewing candidates at the end of January and must name a replacement within 30 days of the vacancy occurring. The newly appointed member will serve until December 31st, 2025. If the appointed member desires to continue serving, he or she must run in the next general election (November 2025).

Those interested in serving on the Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools Board of Education should complete an application that is available on the district website or obtain a hard copy, available in Central Office, located in the Administrative Building. All applications should be turned in to Central Office in person, via mail (TVLSD Board of Education, Attention: Tonya Galigher, 2637 Tusky Valley Rd. NE - Zoarville, Ohio 44656), or emailed to [email protected].

According to Ohio law, people serving on Ohio school boards must be district residents, registered voters in the district, and at least 18 years old.
